SHELLY ANNE MOAR

(INGRAHAM)

August 11, 1958 - March 26, 2023

After a lengthy battle with cancer, Shelly passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the age of 64.

Shelly was the eldest of five children, born to John and Janice Ingraham. She was born in Winnipeg, MB, where the family resided until they were posted to Shilo, MB. Several moves followed for them, including living in Inverness, NS, and eventually settling in Brandon, MB.

It was in Brandon that Shelly met her best friend and love of her life, Bruce Moar. They were married in September 1979, and were blessed with two children; Melinda and Derek. After the kids were born, Shelly opened a daycare in the home, and had the privilege of being at home with the kids during their younger years. Once the kids were older, she took on the new role of running the canteen at Vincent Massey High School. After 13 years there, she moved into an E.A. position at Neelin High School, in the Life Skills program. She has many fond memories of both, and was still employed at Neelin at the time of her passing.

Shelly was passionate about many things, including cheering on her children and grandchildren in all the sports and activities they participated in. She loved time spend hosting B.B.Q.s, swimming, playing Yahtzee, and sitting around bonfires with neighbors, friends, and family.

For all that knew Shelly, she was the "fixer" of everything, and fiercely loyal to family and friends.

Shelly will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years, Bruce Moar; their children Melinda (Kris) Mouland and Derek (Marcie) Moar; grandchildren Xander, Hailey, Ryker, and Ryleigh; siblings Laura (Greg) Merritt, Donna (Ron) Sanders, Joy (Maurice) Snow, and Timothy (Maxine) Ingraham); nieces and nephews Jennassa (Ty), Janna (Jody), Mandi (Brin) and family, Terra-Lee, Kyle, Tyler, and Taya (Seb); grandmother Blanche Nichol; aunt Bonnie Sinnock; mother-in-law Phyllis Moar; brothers-in-law Ray (Lynda) Moar and Gil (Cindy) Moar; and nieces and nephews Bryce (Pearl) and family, Daniel (Tawn) and family, Jenny (Niall) and family, Steve (Erin) and family), and Mitch (S.J.) and family.

Shelly was predeceased by both her parents, John and Janice Ingraham, and father-in-law Donald Moar.

There will be a private graveside service at Brandon Cemetary. A celebration of life tea will be held July 7th, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion - 560 13th Street E, Brandon, MB.

The Moar family would like to send a special thank-you to CancerCare Manitoba for all the special care Shelly received.

  • To our dear friend Shelly, we will so miss you. With many memories of parties at Safeway or evenings around a fire. We where the lucky ones to have you in our lives. And will treasure every memory till we meet again. Cheryl and Don. - Posted by: Cheryl @ Don Allen (Friends) on: Jul 01, 2023

  • I had the privilege of looking after Melinda and Derek. One day Shelly and her mom were getting their nails done at the same place as I did. Shelly over heard that I was opening a home daycare. Next thing I knew is a little boy joined my daycare family. I thank her everyday for Mr Ryker. And now I have Miss Ryleigh. Thank you Shelly for trusting me with her own kids but also her grandchildren. - Posted by: Deann McDonald (Friend) on: Jun 30, 2023
