DONALD THOMAS FOUND
It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Found announces his passing at home on Thursday, June 15. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Susan Found, sons Scott (Ali) and Mike (Lisa) McKay and granddaughters Mielah, Brynn, Ella and Madison McKay who were his greatest joy.
Don was predeceased by his parents Thomas Harold Found and Evelyn Mae Found, his sister Joan Townsend, and brother Alan Found. Don attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate then worked for Brooks Equipment and Wyatt Rentals before joining Powell Equipment in 1975 as Rentals Manager of Powlift Trucks and Systems. He then became Sales Manager and in 1988 was promoted to General Manager of the lift truck division which eventually became Toromont Lift. Don was very proud to have received many Dealer of the Year awards from Caterpillar.
It was at Powlift that Don met Susan and they became a family in 1982. He was thrilled to become step-dad to Scott and Mike and he relished in the boys’ sports activities, coaching Mike’s hockey team for five years. Both boys played soccer, baseball, lacrosse, and hockey and Don was there to support all of it; practices, games, and tournaments near and far including University of Minnesota for Scott’s hockey.
Don joined Southwood Golf and Country Club in 1981 and spent many happy years on the links with people who became life-long friends. After retirement Don and Susan enjoyed getting away during the winter, first to Texas and then Mesa, AZ with their friends from Southwood. He was especially happy to have taken the family to Punta Cana and Hawaii.
A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 06, 2023, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A private family interment will take place at a later date at St. Vital Cemetery.
Don had a number of health issues over the years; cancer and heart surgery among them. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Geriatric Hospital and Action Marguerite day programs for their care and compassion.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to any of the following: Cancer Care Manitoba, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

In loving memory of Uncle Don, we fondly remember his unwavering dedication to golf and watching (early) late-night talk shows comfortably from his chair. Although unenthused by the drive from Winnipeg to Airdrie, where the incessant jingle of baby toys in the trunk lingered, it became a cherished memory, symbolizing his love for his family. May his laughter and enduring spirit continue to resonate in our hearts, forever reminding us of his presence. - Posted by: Katy, Ross, Ryan, and Amy (Family) on: Jul 06, 2023
