Dot Wareham passed away at her Harrison House residence in Newdale on June 21, 2023 at the age of 96.



Dot was born in Newdale, Manitoba on March 19, 1927. Her parents, James and Margaret Helen (Walker) Thomson lived on a farm in the Cadurcis district. Dot was the youngest of their ten children. Dot received her education in Basswood and Minnedosa.



In 1946, Dot met and married Ab (Albert) Wareham in Brandon, Manitoba. They made their home on a farm in the Newdale area and farmed there until Ab’s passing. Dot and Ab raised their six children here. In 2010, Dot moved to Harrison House in Newdale, MB and enjoyed 13 years there among family and friends.



During her lifetime, Dot had been involved in the Foresters, Curling Club and square dancing. Family meant everything to Dot and she enjoyed their many get-togethers. Dot and Ab travelled to Alberta, British Columbia, Scotland, Hawaii, Florida, Alabama and Louisiana.



Dot is survived by five of her children, Terry (Ruth), Randy (Marie), Jamie (Nancy), Tracey (Wayne) Dereniwski, Brett (Colleen), and daughter-in-law Shirley (Bruce), 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.



She was predeceased by her husband Ab in 2010 and son Bruce in 2015.



She will be sadly missed by family and all who knew her.



A private family graveside service was held at the Newdale Cemetery on June 30th, 2023.
