With his family by his side, Eldon Cousins passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 98 years.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Delma in 2004. Remaining to cherish his memory are his sons, Larry (Nancy) and David (Leanne); grandchildren, Greg (Debby), Jeff (Nicole) and Marla; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eldon was predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Margaret; his brothers, Les, Alan, and his sister Margaret.
Born and raised in the Manitou area, Eldon and Delma moved to Vancouver in 1947. They eventually returned to Winnipeg in 1950 where they started their family. In 1971 they moved to Kelowna and then on to Vancouver but eventually returned to Winnipeg where they lived until their passings.
In his later years Eldon became close friends with Erika Sadler whom he spent all his time with laughing and enjoying life to its fullest until his last day. The family will be forever grateful to Erika for bringing eternal joy to our father's life.
Eldon worked in the heating and air conditioning industry for many years in partnership with Fred Whitla operating as Whitla and Cousins Heat-in Services. They ran the business together until their retirement. Eldon then went on to work at Canada Post until retiring for the second time.
A Celebration of Eldon’s life will take place at The Parkway Retirement Community, 85 Paget St. in Winnipeg on Wednesday, July 12 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Sure, I never met him, but I read of his memories. I purchased a frame presented to him on his 95th birthday recently and I was attracted to buy it because we shared the same birthday. I was further intrigued to take the frame because of the expression of art describing words from prophet Ezekiel in the Bible. It was when I was finding more about him that I discovered he recently passed on. My condolences to the family. I wish I meet any of the family members. I was a very young Postal Worker / driver, today an older postal worker. Back then, early 80's, Eldon told me of his car. Chrysler 300, maybe 1965.
