JENS FIETING

It is with great sadness, that on June 22, 2023, Jens Fieting passed away in his home with his son and partner by his side.

He leaves to mourn his partner of 36 years Annette Ahlgren; his son Ian Fieting; daughter-in-law Joanne Fieting; granddaughter Rae-Lynn; and grandson Josh; also, many friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents Inge and Fritz Fieting; his Tante and Onkel Ilse and Otto Koerner.

Jens was born in Bremen, Germany on August 30, 1942. When Jens was 7, he and his family immigrated to Canada. Without knowing much (if any) English he attended school and graduated from Tec Voc. Jens worked at Scott Bathgate (Nutty Club) until retirement when he was 55. Throughout his years, Jens was a part of dance and choir groups. With his love of singing, he was able to play drums (all by ear) and sing for numerous polka bands. Jens performed at such events as Oktoberfest, Folklorama pavilions, and Little Britain.

Jens loved going to the cabin out at Hillside Beach. He eventually sold the cabin and with his partner Annette purchased a place in Bonito Beach Florida. Jens volunteered at many places and belonged to many groups after his retirement.

Jens has touched and left a lifetime of memories on the people he has met throughout his life, that will never be forgotten.

At the request of Jens there will be no service and cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
