Jose Carvalho Chaves passed away on June 18, 2023 at Concordia Hospital at the age of 96. On July 5, 2023, Filomena Puim Chaves also passed peacefully at Concordia Hospital at the age of 96.
They are predeceased by their sons, Dinis and Jorge (Mona), as well as their daughter-in-law Maria Isabel.
Jose and Filomena are survived by their children, Jose Antonio, Ermelinda (Silvino), Arsenio, Ernesto (Lori) and daughter-in-law Ana Maria. Also to mourn their passings are their 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Prayers will be said on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street North. Funeral Mass to follow on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. also at the church. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.
