CLIFFORD ROY WOOD

June 5, 1946 – May 16, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clifford, loving husband and father, who passed away peacefully in Lincoln, England, with Rosemary by his side.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 32 years, Rosemary; daughter Terry; son Steven; brother Peter (Louaine); and nephews, Chris (Christie) and Matthew. Clifford was predeceased by his parents, Arnold and Anne Wood, brother Harvey, and sister-in-law Reta.

Clifford was born in Winnipeg, MB, and spent the majority of his life there. A celebration of Clifford's life will be held on July 23 in the Tamarack Room at the Qualico Family Centre, Assiniboine Park, in Winnipeg. Doors open at 12:00 p.m. with a short program starting at 12:30 p.m.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Our condolences to the Wood family. Cliff will be sorely missed as a friend who was always smiling, helpful, resourceful and fun to be around. We spent many hours with him and Rosemary over the years and always enjoyed our times together. They were also members of the Winnipeg Nomads Trailer Club and we had many fun camp-outs together. We were fortunate enough to visit them in their new home in England and to see how happy they were there. You gave us some happy memories Cliff. - Posted by: Brian & Judy Hauser (friend) on: Jul 16, 2023

  • So very sorry to hear of Cliff's passing. He and Rosemary were long time members of the East Kildonan Garden Club, and at Good Neighbour Active Living Centre. They opened their yard for club tours and it was alway so neat to see. Cliff was a great mentor for the `Birdhouse' workshop for EKGC (made very easy as he did most of the prep work for us). Always looked forward to chat with Cliff when he was the `chef' for GNALC - BBQ. - Posted by: Valerie Denesiuk (friend) on: Jul 15, 2023

  • On behalf of the former camping group known as the Manitoba Sunny Sams, to which Cliff and Rose were wonderful members, I offer condolences from all your camping friends. We enjoyed Cliff's many contributions to our group, his great smile, sense of humour and the many stories he shared. I remember him as being our Flying Sam in the great Good Sam annual Samoboree horse race. A wonderful display of his humour and willingness to fully participate in all our camping events. - Posted by: Tom Breman (Friend) on: Jul 15, 2023
