Condolences & Memories (1 entries)
I've known Don since 1971 when I started working at Birchwood GM. Don was a Trim Technician who worked on squeaks and rattles as well as air-conditioning. He was a great guy and got along with everybody. We spent years going for lunch at the Marigold restaurant when it was still ok to have a drink at lunch. I remember seeing Don's very rare curve dash Oldsmobile in his back yard. I'll also never forget his white 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS. Don was very fond of gadgets. He rigged up a vacuum tank under the hood with nozzle under the dash so you put your cigarette butts into and they would be sucked out into the tank under the hood. I'll also never forget walking by the car and it started up with no-one in the car. He had the ignition hooked up to a timer that automatically started the engine. It was command start years before its time. - Posted by: Paul Tilley (Co-worker) on: Jul 31, 2023
