The moment that you died
my heart was torn in two.
One side filled with heartache,
the other died with you
Remembering you is easy,
I do it every day,
but missing you is heartache
that never goes away.
Often, I take a walk down memory lane
with tears upon my cheeks.
The times we spent together,
the happiness, the fun,
once again I feel the pain
of life without my son.
You left me with memories
and I love you dearly still.
I know I can't bring you back,
although I wish it every day
To have you as my son
was the greatest gift of all.
With aching heart
