It is with shattered hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Margaret Doris Barbour who slipped away peacefully at the age of 81 years on Monday, June 5, 2023, with Tanis, Brad and close friend Lisa by her side.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles ‘Bud’ Barbour in 2022, her sister Olive Moore in 2023 and her brother-in-law Arthur Moore in 2016.
Mom was born to John and Doris Murray (nee Sparks) on March 23, 1942. She was raised in Winnipeg, MB and was the last surviving immediate member of the Murray family.
Her spirit is infinite - Mom will lovingly and forever live on in the hearts she left behind.
She is survived by her daughter Tanis Lynn (Brad); nephews Bruce, Robert (Yvonne), niece Donna (Darren), stepson Charles (Barb), stepdaughter Susan (Dean), extended family and cherished friends in Manitoba, Alberta and BC.
As per Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place with no formal service to be held. A private interment will take place at a later date.
We are grateful to the ICU doctors and nurses for their care and compassion at the Grace Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Margaret can be made to the Winnipeg Police Service K-9 Unit, The Little Red Barn Sanctuary or a charity of their choice.
Condolences may be sent to www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
You were immensely proud of me and so was I of you, Mom. Thank you for your treasured life lessons.
Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim - Nora Ephron.
She was indeed.

So sad to hear of Margaret's passing especially as I just found out of Bud's passing away recently too. I was friends with Tanis for a long time and had visited their home on many occasions and found Margaret a warm and funny person to be around, she had an infectious laugh and was full of life. She enjoyed getting away to the cottage with bud. Unfortunately for me, I had lost contact with the family many years ago but occasionally would drive by their house and had thought of dropping in to say hello, I now wish I had done just that. My loss completely. Sincere condolences to Tanis and to everyone who had the pleasure of spending one moment with her and realizing that she was a special person. - Posted by: john baillie (family friend) on: Aug 15, 2023
