LEONARD KALMAKOFF
Date of Passing: Aug 01, 2023
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD KALMAKOFF
On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, we had to say goodbye to an extraordinary son, dad, brother, grandpa, uncle, and friend, Lenny, Len, Leonard (the Kal) to early onset frontotemporal dementia. Len left us to set off on his next journey with his Creator and to join family and friends who have passed on before him.
Len was predeceased by his parents Agnes Labelle, Michael Kalmakoff, Arthur Labelle, sisters Annie and Denise and brothers Tommy, William, John, Michael, Kenneth, Alphonse, Ernest, Lucien, Henry, Bernard and nieces Tina, Brandy and Cassandra.
He is survived by his children, Justin (Danielle), David (Annie Rose), Catherine, Patrick (Pauline), his grandchildren, Adara, Kaia, Daisy, William, Abigail and Penelope, his brothers and sisters, Vern (Cathy), Sally, Susan (Larry), Darlene (Greg), Dora, Rose, Yvonne, Irene, Pauline, Rita, Teresa, Phyllis, Edward, Lydia, George, Georgina and spouses, as well as all of his nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Len was the best person and friend you could ever want in your life. He protected his family and friends and you always knew he had your back. He was generous and giving with the biggest heart of gold. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He had a way of entering a room with his impressive presence and his big warm smile that would light up the whole room. He had the most kind and gentle heart and sensitive soul. He was wise beyond his years. Justin, David, Pat and Cathy would say that they would talk to their dad about everything going on in their lives, especially if they needed words of wisdom as he always had the right answer, the right words, and the best advice. His intelligence knew no bounds when it came to solving everyday problems whether it be at home with his family, at work with co-workers or between friends. You could always count on Len!
I would like to thank Beacon Hill Lodge for their compassionate care for Len and the family as well as his amazing companions, Kayla, Theo, Bola and Nicole. We could not have survived this journey without all of you.
Len loved his home which holds a quote he had posted in his kitchen: “A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.”
Even though Len is no longer here with us, he will never be forgotten and our memories will always remind us of the extraordinary man that he was.
Len: Your love, patience, understanding, wisdom and your sense of humour will live on in our hearts Forever. We know that you are watching over us already and for always. Len, we love you and miss you!
We would love to see you all at Lenny’s celebration of his wonderful life at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Glen Lawn, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Wpg.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Len’s name to the Alzheimer's Society
