Born in Brandon, Manitoba, to Frances and Lewis Smith, where she lived until 1979 when she relocated to Neepawa, Manitoba, until her passing. She is survived by daughters Frances, Faye, and Diane; sons Floyd, Earl, and Calvin; plus numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents; three sisters; two brothers; three husbands, Harry Little, Pete Scherpeniese, and John Ladouceur; three grandchildren, Paul, Christina, and Amanda; and one great-grandchild.
Almost her entire working career was as a cook in Brandon, Neepawa, and Gladstone. Outside of professional cooking, her passions were cooking for her family, knitting, sewing, and pretty much anything to do with materials and thread.
Anyone wishing to donate, please consider giving to the Canadian Alzheimer's Society in Viola's name.
Funeral service will be held at the Canadian Legion Hall in Neepawa, 425 Brown Street, on August 25th, 2023, and 11:00 a.m.
