SONIA ROSE DERKACH

(nee POSMITUCK)

Sonia Rose Derkach (nee Posmituck), of Wawanesa, MB, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Tuesday August 22, 2023, at the age of 82 years.

Sonia leaves to mourn her passing husband Peter, son Donovan, daughter-in-law Mandy, granddaughter Miah all of Fernie, BC; sisters Olia Balan and Shirley Kimpinski, both of Shoal Lake, MB; in-laws Len (Margie) Derkach of Russell, MB; Henry Derkach of Regina, SK; as well as numerous extended relatives and friends.

Sonia was predeceased by her parents Fred & Lena Posmituck.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the Wawanesa Community Hall with Shirley McBurney officiating.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Russell, MB, with Father Jay Korban as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the Russell Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations can be made in Sonia’s memory to the Wawanesa Community Foundation, or to the St. Mary’s Foundation Fund, Russell, MB.
