“My Aimee!” My dearest friend Emily (Carl) was known to me as our daughters were best friends which lead to our deep friendship. When Aimee would come to Winnipeg, they would invite me to dinner and we would laugh, enjoy great food (Aimee couldn’t eat night shades!) and dine just the ladies together. Aimee was so fashionable, hard working and a dear friend to many who accomplished so much in her lifetime. Her and Jordan (boyfriend) had redesigned the home to make room for each others hobbies and she was so proud to show me her new couch as the last one had deteriorated almost at the point of purchase. She dressed impeccably, wore her tattoos proudly, had a collection of earrings which we were fashionable and supportive of Indigenous artists. My daughter Samantha H. has lost her best friend and her confidante. They met at College Jeanne Sauve when across the room seeing each other ran into each other’s arms becoming dearest of friends and soul sisters. I was blessed to have had dinner with her the Sunday before her passing, whereby, Samantha and I as her sous chef made venison while Aimee showed me proudly how to make delicious air fryer yams. Aimee was such a talented artist and her home was warm and inviting surrounded by art she had drawn and a place for her dog Sadie to keep her company. She made a lasting impression in our hearts because she loved us and I can’t thank Aimee enough for all she did for my daughter over these years. Rest in peace my little “artiste!” - Posted by: Mona-Lynne Ayotte (Friend) on: Aug 26, 2023
