RAYMOND EDWARD BROCKEST
July 8, 1933 – August 10, 2023
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ray at the age of 90 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister Delores Rolston; children Grant (Evelyn) Bridgeman, Kathy (Andy) Stoddart; sister-in-law Donna (Kerry) Inkster and brothers-in-law George (Judy) Moore, Percy Maxon, Glen (Yvonne) Maxon; grandchildren Ryan, Laurissa, Keelin, Garrett and Sean; nieces and nephews; and many friends. Ray was predeceased by his wife Edna (Ruth) Brockest (nee Moore) and his parents Elsie and Jack Brockest.
Ray was very active as a realtor in both Calgary and Winnipeg before his retirement. Those who knew him could always expect an easy laugh and witty conversation. He enjoyed entertaining with family and friends and was a master of digital photography.
Thank you to the 4th floor staff of Beacon Hill Lodge for your compassion and care as Ray navigated through the dementia that ultimately took him from us.
A private celebration of Ray's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)
Mr Brockest was my first “boss” at Ladco homes in the early 70s. He let my friend and I sweep up and pick up junk that was around the model homes just to keep us busy. And we could make some small change (big bucks to little kids) and we could get some treats from the candy store. He and his wife was also friends to my parents Jim and Audrey for many years and they would have dinners and drinks over at each others homes. Nice man. To his family, Sorry for having to say goodbye to him again. Dementia is so hard. - Posted by: Janine (Whitman) Meister (Friend) on: Aug 29, 2023
A real gentle caring man. Brought humour, laughter and entertainment with unique laughter. May God travel with him to his new life. Bert De Leeuw - Posted by: De Leeuw Bert (Friend) on: Aug 26, 2023
