Date of Passing: Aug 03, 2023
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHEN (STEVE) ROPER
Steve was the best friend, love, and dream partner of Faith. He leaves behind son Andrew (Megan), his sister Tabatha Roper (Bruce), and many other relatives and friends. Steve was predeceased by both his parents, Gail and Raymond Roper.
Steve was a hardworking family man who loved passing on his knowledge to his son. He was always willing to help out his friends and family. During Steve and Faith's wonderful journey of life together, they were lucky enough to expand their small family to include some amazing friends, who have enriched their lives beyond measure. Steve was at his best at the lake - it was his happy place where he could enjoy fishing, boating, much laughter, and good times around the campfire. The favourite topics of discussions were often on the varieties of "real" beer, wine, and recipes. He loved watching the birds and the turtles resting on the turtle pads at various locations. His kind words, smiles, and genuine friendship and dependability will be missed by so many.
In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a donation to Diabetes Canada.
Faith and Andrew would like to thank all friends and family who have offered love and kindness during this difficult time. Special thanks to Tessa Hobson from the Medical Examiner’s Office, and to officers Andrew and Devin of the WPS for their compassion.
A Celebration of Life for Steve will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 28, 2023, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg MB.

Sending My deepest Condolences to the Family. Such Sad news. My heart goes out to you Faith and his whole family. I knew Stephen in our school days - right back to Margaret Underhill Elememtary school, I walked past his house everyday. Take comfort in all the happy memories. Right now you will be sad but let yourself laugh and share all those things that made you smile. - Posted by: Kathy Bridges Wallmuth (School Friend/Childhood Neighbor) on: Aug 31, 2023
