• I am so sad to hear of Mike’s passing. It has been years that seems like yesterday that we worked together at Eaton’s St. Vital as young students of life and university. I had the privilege of witnessing the budding romance of Mike and Joanne and was a happy guest at their wedding a few years later. I will always remember Mike as a funny, happy, intelligent, and inspired man. While I searched for a career, Mike knew right away what he would be, and I see from his life tribute that he more than succeeded in his aspirations! I knew he would. I had always hoped that our paths would cross again and we could once again re-enact Monty Python Skits or wear Gumby hats and laugh all night at the silliness of life. Time was not kind. With much regret, I will not be able to attend Mike’s celebration of life, as I have an appointment at CancerCare at the same time. Funny how life is! I offer my most sincere condolences to all those whom Mike loved and who loved Mike! Big hugs to Joanne and Mike’s children as they walk through this most difficult time. • Dear Joanne, Melissa and Nicholas, I am so sorry that Mike is no longer with us. My deepest sympathies. Mike was a great guy, having been friends with him since kindergarten I am shocked. I will always remember his sense of humour and love of life. He tackled life with joy, warmth and relentless determination. The loss of a great humorist, scientist, friend, father, husband and human has left a hole in this world. He will be missed dearly. I hope we can all remember Mike's laugh and ability to see humour in every situation. I am sure he would want us all to keep on laughing and telling our great stories of him and his innumerable accomplishments.
