Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT ALEXANDER MITCHELL
It is with heavy hearts we announce Uncle Bob passed away on August 28, 2023, at the wonderful age of 98 years.
He was born in Winnipeg in 1925 and grew up in the north end. At age 22 he joined The Canadian Army and served from March 1943 until July 1946 before returning to civilian life. Bob relocated to The Pas to work for the Hudson Bay Railway. He loved the north and in 1957 bought his log cabin on Clearwater Lake. It was his most special place. He was a great photographer and spent many summers travelling around Manitoba, and winters in Florida, capturing all the beauty in people, flowers, birds, and landscapes.
He is survived by his love and life partner Eileen and her family, his nieces Terri, Dawn, Penni, Kelli, and nephews Robert (Bob), Lance, Blair, and their families. He had many extended families both in The Pas and Winnipeg as well as numerous great friends. Bob loved a good party and enjoyed many great gatherings with family and friends. He was always eager to find out what was happening in their lives. He was a kind and loving man, and everyone loved to be in his company.
He smiled when he quoted “Old Age Ain't No Place for Sissies" - Bette Davis
A private gathering will be held at a later date.

My family has a cottage on Clear Water Lake and would meet Bob for a cocktail and afternoon snacks with Eileen, my wife Jacq & my parents every summer for a far back as I can remember. Bob always had a good story, photo or an interesting fact about the area. He will be missed as he was always a welcoming person and smile on his face. I am sending love to Eileen and the family. - Posted by: Cam Dobranski (Friend) on: Nov 12, 2023
