David Michael Lemieux, 61, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 in Selkirk, Manitoba after a lengthy struggle with mental illness.
David was born in Dauphin, Manitoba and moved with the family to Portage la Prairie in 1973. Before his illness, David was a man who was passionate about life, fun loving and kind. He built his own mechanics shop business and had many interests.
David is predeceased by his parents, Wilfred and Blanche (nee Vercaigne) Lemieux and sister Theresa Lambert. He is survived by his brother Fr. André Lemieux; sisters, Michelle (Robert) Beauregard, Mary Ann (Andrew) Procca and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 478 McKenzie Street, Winnipeg. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Portage la Prairie.
The family wish to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Selkirk Mental Health Center for their attentive and compassionate care of David.
