Today we celebrate an anniversary we never wished for. The day you abruptly left us was the day we all began to fall apart, in one way or another. This paralyzing event has now become the day we celebrate your life.
As summer gives way to fall, returning feelings of loss and anxiety surface. Five years later and we still cannot imagine life without you. But we are trying. We miss seeing you after months of being away at work. That smirk on your face and your made for movies handsomeness. Your conversations, including those sarcastic remarks of yours. We miss your helpfulness without asking. Even the socks you’d leave all over the house. We miss all of you. No one can compare to you.
