It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George Andrew Boyd on September 11, 2023, at the age of 77 years.
George leaves to mourn his wife Marlene, children, Melanie, Angie, Lisa Audy, Wendy, Wayne, Anthony, Tamara, Tweet, Ethan and Kameshia, 29 grandchildren and his queen Aizlyn, and six great-grandchildren, siblings, Denise, Vicki, Verdine, Verla, Doug (Sue), Eric, Nelson and Joe, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Muriel Boyd, grandson Georgie, brother John and brother-in-law Norman.
Wake services will be held at Christ Church Anglican Hall, Sagkeeng First Nation on September 14 to 15, 2023. Funeral service will be held at the Christ Church Anglican on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverends Richard and Nancy Bruyere officiating. Interment at a later date.

George was a very good friend & neighbor. We shared many laughs & listening to his very humorous stories. I feel truly blessed to have him as my very good friend. We even trained a squirrel that came to visit us every day like clockwork for its peanuts. You will truly be missed & in our hearts. Will miss our Tim's steep tea's together. My deepest condolences to Marlene, family and our cousins the Boyd family. We will always remember George as a funny, generous and very caring man. He helped our community in Black River so much when he worked for Southest, he always tried his best to sponsor the youth programs, even from his own pocket. He will forever be remembered. George Boyd was a friend of my late father Lawrence Happy Smith. I met George at SERDC in Winnipeg and help with Spirit of Giving when my family was in need of assistance as our band would not assist after my family. George's kindness would never be forgot by my family. Rest in peace George. Condolences to his wife and family. George was a true friend, story teller and jokester. We never laughed so hard as to when someone put a small boulder in his golf bag and he lugged it to the airport. The gate attendant said his bag was overweight and he pulled out this huge rock.
