Age 58, of Narol, MB, passed peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at East Gate Lodge Personal Care Home in Beausejour, MB due to complications from Lewy Body Dementia.
Carol was born on November 13, 1964, in Winnipeg, MB to Stanley Harold Pfiefer and Francis (Sally) Cecil Pfiefer. She graduated from Glenlawn Collegiate, going onto a career college which led her to work in the insurance industry. Carol was happily married to Brian Dean Elias, who was her partner in life for nearly 39 years at the time of her death.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband, her children: Nicholas Paul Elias and Sarah Jane Elias (Ryan Thomas Ellis), her father, and numerous brothers and sisters.
Besides spending time with her family and friends, Carol had a passion for traveling to hot destinations, tending to her gardens, camping, and observing nature’s beauty. Carol had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her ability to charm you with just one smile. She touched many lives with her caring nature and passion for life.
We would like to give thanks to the nurses, health care givers and staff at East Gate Lodge. You’re Carol’s and our heroes for the care you provided.
Cremation has taken place and family and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, Manitoba, 309 Eveline St, R1A1M8.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice or plant a tree in honor of her memory.

  • I was standing alongside Brian on his wedding day and was able to see the look on his face when Carol entered the church. He already knew how beautiful she was but that day, that moment, I believe he realized just how lucky he was. I moved overseas and we lost touch but had to be at Carol’s service. It was there I saw how many people she touched and that despite passing away too soon, had a full and wonderful life with Brian, Nick and Sarah.
