KATHIE HELEN DYCK
After a brief illness, Kathie, 88, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Born to Abram and Aganeta Dueck of Sanford Manitoba, Kathie was the third-born of five children: Peter (Marie), Mary (John), Fred (Eleanor, deceased), and Henry (Ruth). Her beloved husband Peter passed away in 2009. She leaves behind children, Paul (Sally), Ingrid (Shawn), and Calvin (Crystal); grandchildren, Kenji, Adam (Bailey), Simon, Seika, Daniel and her adopted grandchildren, Ethan and Sidney.
Kathie will be remembered as a loving and attentive sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a kind and generous host and a faithful member of her church. In addition to raising her children, she worked in many jobs and was a skilled bookkeeper. Like her father, she loved to drive, and in her later years she took great joy in driving friends to their medical appointments. She especially cherished all her grandchildren.
Her life was shaped by her faith in Christ, and we entrust her to God’s care.
A Memorial Service was held at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday October 3, 2023, at Emmanuel Community Church, 6505 – 140 Ave Edmonton
