JOHN (JACK) PALUK

October 18, 1932 - October 3, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Jack, announce his passing at Deer Lodge Centre on October 3, 2023, with his daughter Joyce by his side.

Jack was predeceased by his wife Laura; sons, Barry and Bill; sister Elaine; and both his parents, Dulcie and John Paluk. He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughters, Joyce (Paul), Sharon (Roger) son John (Donna); daughter-in-law Tracy; nine grandchildren and their spouses, and 15 great-grandchildren, along with a large extended family.

Jack lived his entire life in St. Vital, other than his time spent in Korea in the artillery division. When he returned, he began his lifelong career as a truck driver, ending his career with Paul's Hauling.

Jack and Laura spent a lot of time in arenas at hockey games with John and Barry and enjoyed watching baseball. The family spent many happy hours camping with numerous family members. After retirement they spent time travelling overseas, holidaying with their daughter Sharon and family. They also enjoyed spending many happy hours with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Center, especially the staff on Tower 4. Also, a heartfelt thank-you goes out to his companion and friend Merna, who was with him until the end. We could not have done this journey without you!

A private family interment will be held at a later date.

If family and friends desire, a donation can be made to the Courtyard Refresh Project at Deer Lodge Centre. Jack spent many happy hours outside sitting with his face towards the sun, eating tomatoes off the vine in the gardens and feeding the squirrels!

Goodbye our dad and grandpa Jack!

We love you! Rest in peace!

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Our family was so fortunate to have the Paluks as our next door neighbours for 34 years, as we both moved into and out of our homes on Elm Park Road about the same time. Jack, Laura, 5 kids, (and various dogs) were always so friendly, kind and helpful….everything one wants in a neighbour. To Joyce, Sharon, John, Tracy and families, our heartfelt sympathy as you mourn the loss of Jack. Sam and Carla - Posted by: Carla Scaletta (neighbour) on: Oct 22, 2023
