EUGENE ANTOINE DUPUIS

Eugene Antoine Dupuis, age 88 years of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away surrounded by family on Friday, October 6, 2023.

Eugene was born June 3, 1935, to Alfred and Heloise (nee Lauze) on the family farm near St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba.

After attending school first in a one-room school, Ecole du Lac, then St.Joseph School for Boys in Otterburne, he went to work in Balmertown, Ontario, for Campbell mines. He married Shirley (nee Scott) in 1961 and they soon began their family. In 1966, they moved to Winnipeg and Eugene began his 27-year career as a transit driver for the City of Winnipeg.

Dad and Mom always enjoyed old time dancing. During their retirement, Eugene and Shirley enjoyed square dancing and round dancing. They travelled coast to coast in Canada and as far south as Mesa, Arizona, for dance conventions and jamborees. Dad also learned to clog.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley, their children: Deborah (Kenneth), Keith, and Michele (Stuart), their grandchildren: Amanda, Neil (Lauren), Scott (Michelle), and Johnathan (Victoria), great-grandchildren: Gemma, Easton, Charlotte, Aria, and James, his siblings: Louise, Marc, Leo, Ubald, Denise, Emile and Berthe and their families including numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and, his siblings: Lorraine, Roland, Florent, Jeanne, and Carole.
