KURT RUSSELL BITTNER

September 24, 1970 - October 9, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family of Kurt Bittner announces his unexpected passing on Thanksgiving Day at the young age of 53.

From the very beginning Kurt was a curious soul, deeply interested in history and travel, often getting lost while finding his way. The thrill was in the adventure. It was on one of these adventures that Kurt met the true love of his life, Aida. The romance that began in Mexico ended up with the couple settling at his home in Winnipeg, where they married, bonded with family and friends and spent many wonderful times at the cottage. They continued to travel, including trips to Africa and the Middle East until family illness led his heart home. After the passing of his father, with Aida by his side, Kurt dedicated himself to being his mother’s primary caregiver, a rewarding and challenging role he carried until his passing. Kurt was incredibly kind and generous to everyone he met, an amazing brother, loving husband, son, uncle, godfather and friend. His memory will be cherished, and he will be deeply missed.

Kurt was predeceased by his father Kerry Bittner. He leaves behind his devoted wife Aida; mother Sandra; brother Clay (Stacey); sister Krista (Craig); nephews, Brayden, Cameron, Eric and niece Megan, along with many friends and relatives.

The funeral service will be held at St. Charles Catholic Parish on October 20th at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Kurt’s legacy can make donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba.
