Dear Uncle Joseph I will always remember you as a kind-hearted soul. Your love was genuine and you were fiercely protective of those you loved. Your loyalty to Trinidad and Tobago, the land of your birth was undeniable as even in your final days you reminisced about getting a ticket for travel. I could not be by your side as you quietly slipped away from us but I do already miss you. Apart from memories of the times we shared, I have so many gifts that you bought me every time you travelled "home". They will be my constant and cherished reminders. I am comforted by the peace you experienced in your last days on earth before you slipped into the arms of our Heavenly Father, This peace could have only come from a right relationship with your God who called you home. I will not say goodbye because I know that we will meet again Uncle J. - Posted by: JENNIFER GREEN (niece) on: Oct 24, 2023

Pops, I'm glad you are at peace now. I was thinking yesterday that it is a week that you left us. As I told you a few years ago, that you can trust that Noel and I will take care of Mom just like we did with you. I remember you thinking that you were teaching me to drive, but I was already driving without your knowledge...lol. I learned how to be handyman by your teaching and me watching you work. You thought me how to be tough when needed. A lot of people told me that I was just like you and I would say "yeah, but I'm nicer about it". I will miss your laughter Pops. I remember walking to the back door and hearing you laughing and when I opened the door tears were running down you cheeks. I tried asking what was so funny and started laughing myself without knowing why. When you were able to talk, you told me "that Mom got drunk on a capful of Rum when Obama won election and how she had to crawl up the stairs to bed. The next morning she told you that her head was hurting and you realized from her movements that Mom was hung over". I remember falling down laughing even harder with tears running down my face. We miss you Pops. - Posted by: Yvette Barrett-Roberts (Daughter) on: Oct 23, 2023
