Jim was employed with the City of Winnipeg for 30 years, starting as a laborer and working his way to Foreman. Upon his retirement, he took up golf and golfed until he became ill. Jim also played hockey, baseball and curled. Jim loved all sports but his passion was hockey and he excelled at it. He ate, slept, and dreamt hockey.
Jim also loved to travel but fell in love with Acapulco. We made many trips to Acapulco and made many friends from across Canada and the United States. Jim really bonded with the Mexican people and formed many long-lasting friendships.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Cemetery.

Jim introduced me to my winter escape in Acapulco. We met while on the job and he beckoned me to join him, wife Carol and friends. Many fantastic memories were made on our trips. He made friends easily despite the language factor and is remembered well by many locals in Acapulco. Rest in heavenly peace Acamigo. - Posted by: Rik Zatonski (Former fellow worker and friend ) on: Oct 22, 2023

Jim & Carol were neighbors for 55 years. Getting married and moving into their home on Brewster Bay. Keeping to themselves but always a friendly smile from them. The garbage cans were always neatly put away. Rest in Peace. Nancy - Posted by: Nancy Drewniak (neighbour) on: Oct 21, 2023
