With great sadness, our family announces the peaceful passing of Valerie Campbell, on October 16, 2023.
Valerie is survived by her sons, Rick (Barbara), Todd (Lori); daughter, Susan (Wade) Robillard; grandchildren, Josh (Carrie), Stacy (Craig), Gary (Kristen), Lyndee (Aman), Andrea, Stephanie, Dan (Lexi), Andrew, Scott, and Steven (Jasmine); seven great-grandchildren; her sister Pat Reiman, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Crawford.
Val was born in Spearhill, Manitoba to Richard and Ethel Francis, where she was raised alongside her brother Allan and sister Pat. She married the love of her life, Crawford, in 1952 and raised their three children in St. James. She and Crawford had 47 years together in which they raised their family, travelled and spent their time at their favourite place, the cottage at Brereton Lake. Val loved that the cottage became a focal point of four generations of family and friends, including the friends of her children and grandchildren. She loved reading the newspaper in her chair in the veranda, baking her famous brownies, and playing a variety of card games.
Val was very involved in all activities of her children as they grew up and when she became “Nana” to her grandchildren she followed all of their activities and achievements with the same interest and passion.
After the passing of Crawford, Val led an active life and had a wonderful group of friends that she continued to attend theatre, bridge club and travel with.
The family is extremely grateful for the care she received at both the Rosewood and West Park Manor.
A private family service will be held.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I remember how she always welcomed your friends to your home and cottage. She seemed to always have a smile on her face. My sympathies to you all. - Posted by: Joanne Wiens (Friend of Todd’s) on: Oct 23, 2023
