He will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 58 years Yvette (nee Robidoux); daughter Anita (Mel Partyka); son Denis (Lisa Dudych); grandchildren, Michael (Rae-Ann), Chantelle (Mike); great-grandson Marshall; brother Ben (Therese); sisters-in-law, Jeannette, Lucie, Annette Robidoux; brother-in-law Henri-Paul Blanchette; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Adelard and Adrienne Jolicoeur; siblings, Yvan, Paul (Gisele), Père Louis, Irma Coudenys (Marcel), Jeannette Blanchette, Rene, Noel, Lorraine Frechette (Noel); father-in-law and mother-in-law Wilfred and Eugenie Robidoux; brothers-in-law, Joe Robidoux, Emile Robidoux (Fernande), Henri Robidoux (Cecile), and Denis Robidoux (Diane).
Roland was born on March 12, 1941 in St. Boniface and grew up in La Broquerie, Manitoba. He worked on the family farm in his early years, and at the age of 19 he started working at CN. He retired at the age of 63.
He greatly enjoyed curling, quading, snowmobiling, fishing, and hunting. The light of his life was his great-grandson Marshall. While in the hospital, Marshall would visit and bring a big smile to Pépère’s face. Roland enjoyed family dinners and spending time with his many friends and family.
He was a kind and gentle soul who was loved by everybody.
Memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street, at 1:00 p.m. Private interment for family will be at a later date.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the wonderful staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

Our sincere condolences to you Yvette and family. We are so honoured to have known Roland since May 2021 when we moved to VB. We met Roland and Yvette for the first time in the parking garage. Later we enjoyed their company sharing a table on special occasions involving a meal. That’s how we got to know Roland. Will always remember him as a soft spoken guy whose company grew on us. Roland will be missed by many. - Posted by: Paul et Lorêne Guillou (Friends at Villa Beliveau) on: Nov 04, 2023
