On October 24, 2023, John passed away peacefully with family by his side following the recent diagnosis and rapid advancement of cancer.
John (dad) was an active man, always with a project on the go. He was a doer, builder, and fixer of many things. Trained as a cabinet maker, he used his carpentry skills wherever he was involved. His family, friends, neighbours in the Lindenwood Estates and Sargent Ave. Mennonite Church all benefited from his generosity and expert craftsmanship.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nellie, daughters Bonnie (Richard), Lorraine (Herb), Caroline (Tony) and grandchildren Andrew, Stephanie (Alex), Michael (Rebecca), Zachary, Heather, Hillary, Olivia, and Liam. He will also be missed by his extended family members.
Please join us in celebrating John’s life at Sargent Ave. Mennonite Church, 926 Garfield St., Winnipeg, on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
The family is grateful for the compassionate care John received at Riverview Health Centre.
