EARL GLINTER
It is with profound love and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Earl Glinter, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He passed away at the age of 77 on October 2, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Earl was a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 52 years, Arlene. He was a proud father to his two sons, Shawn (Nicole) and Yale, and his daughter Debbie (Andrew). Earl was a cherished Zaida to Jordan, Jack and Cooper, and a devoted brother to Harry (Nancy).
His family will forever cherish their wonderful memories at the lake in Kenora, fishing trips and dinner’s at Hy’s, to name a few.
Earl was born in a displaced persons camp in Salzburg, Austria shortly after the Second World War to Boris Glinter (Ukraine) and Mania Meller (Poland). Upon arriving in Winnipeg, Earl got a chance to cultivate his amazing work ethic and ambition, both studying hard in school and helping to interpret a new language and culture for his parents.
Earl eventually became a chartered accountant and this became the second love of his life, closely following but never surpassing his love for his family and closest friends.
Over his lifetime, Earl has accumulated many close friendships, many over 40 years long and all of whom will mourn his loss while celebrating his life.
Earl was a member of the Menorah Lodge, the Grand Lodge where he was a leader promoting fellowship and community and will be remembered for his determined efforts in the area of human rights serving as a volunteer in finance and accounting for Beyond Borders as well as other important organizations.
The family would like to thank Dr. Wong and Dr. Wiens as well as the staff at Grace Hospital whose professional care and deep compassion were greatly appreciated. Funeral services were held at Etz Chayim.
Those who wish to make a donation may do so in Earl’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba.

Earl was an amazing man of many accomplishments and he will be surely missed by all that knew him. I had the privilege of being his client and sharing many laughs and memories. I'm truly sorry for your loss, Glinter family and close friends and colleagues. The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day; but the love and memory of you shall never pass away - Thinking of you Earl over a glass of Scotch/Whisky. - Posted by: Joshua kass (Client / Friend ) on: Dec 18, 2023

I met Earl in 2016 when the company I own managed a property that he was the accountant for. Over the next 6 years I worked in consultation with Earl to do the books for this property. I was very much a junior in the accounting sphere, and Earl taught me a lot during that time. We had good chats outside the of the accounting topic, and he knew I liked muscle cars and he often mentioned his 1967 Chevelle that he owned at one time. I gave him a very nice Scotch one year, and he added it to his extensive collection of Scotches on the shelf in his home. I am honoured to have been able to work with Earl. - Posted by: Nik Fast (Business) on: Nov 28, 2023
