It is with great sadness the family of Lydia Susan Bachmeier announces her unexpected death. Lydia Bachmeier, age 66, of Winnipeg, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB.



Lydia was born in Winnipeg, moved to Ste. Anne area in 1988 and returned to Winnipeg in 2008, where she lived till her death. She was married to her husband Axel for just over 41 years, and raised three children, Joe, Morgan, and Heidi.



She is survived by her husband Axel; son Joe (Samantha) and his children, Josef, and Mileena; son Morgan (Ashley), his children, Felicity, Paige, Margaret, Caleb, Griffin, and Leah; daughter Heidi; her father Walter; sister Sonja; brother Walter (Terrina), his children, Brittney, Matthew, and Jaxon, and sister Jeannette (Randall), her daughter Kylie.



Lydia was predeceased by her mother Amelia.



The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 PTH 52W, Steinbach, MB, with a viewing one hour prior to the service.



The interment will take place at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB, following the service.



Donations in memory of Lydia may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship.

  • I just heard today about Lydia's passing. My heart goes out to you Axel and family. Being in your Bible study I got to know Lydia. She was strong in her faith in Jesus and loved her family.
