Date of Passing: Nov 07, 2023
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD LOUIS CREIGHTON
Edward Creighton had a great sense of humour and was always joking around. He knew how to make everyone feel at ease. Ed was affectionate, loving, quick-witted, and generous. He loved his family very much, and his pets as well. He could often be found watching sports with his pipe or a good cigar. Ed was often puttering outdoors, fixing things around the house, or going for a drive.
He grew up in Elmwood, where he played hockey, football, baseball, basketball, and excelled at track and field. Ed loved spending time fishing, swimming, and being outdoors at Dorothy Lake.
Ed started dating the love of his life, Linda, in high school. They were soon married and had nearly 52 wonderful years together. They went on to have three daughters, Tara, Jennifer, and Pamela. He taught them how to play sports, to fish, and would build doll houses, sandboxes, snow forts, ice rinks, slides, stilts and more for the girls.
He was a police officer for 31 years. Ed is survived by his wife Linda; his daughters, Tara (Chris) and Pamela (Reuben); and brother Laurie (Jo-Ann); and mother-in-law Ollie; and cousins, nieces, nephews and their children. He was predeceased by parents, Walter and Jean; daughter Jennifer; and sister Nancy.
The funeral will be held on November 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Green Acres Funeral Home and can be live-streamed from their website.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter.

Linda and family It was a shock to me when i found out. I knew about Ed's illness but i had seen him driving this summer and figured he was doing pretty good. We have been neighbours for so many years. Our kids grew up together snd i will never forget Ed's mischievous smile and the cigar he always had in his mouth. When we were able to go for a walk and Ed was out in the yard he always stopped what he was doing to talk He was a very special man Linda and it doesn't seem possible he is gone. I can't attend the funeral because of Bob's condition but you Pam, Tara and their familirs will be in my thoughts and prayers. I wish this could be in person but sending you a BIG HUG - Posted by: Sandie snd Bob Duffill (Neighbour ) on: Nov 22, 2023

I wanted to take this time to send my condolences to Linda and family. I remember being like when I was 13 sometimes Linda's mom and dad would go out and I sat in my living room window watching and giggling. What a cute teenage couple they made. Who knew they would go on to get married and raise three beautiful girls. He was a pleasant man who always made me smile. We had many a heart to heart when I needed it . I'm sending healing hugs to you all. And yes The world has lost a very fine man. ! Be at peace my friend . See ya when it's my turn - Posted by: Sherry Hinchliffe (Long time friend ) on: Nov 20, 2023

I worked with Ed in one of the satellite police stations, he was so much fun to be around, not only did he make me laugh, he also was a true gentleman, those traits ran in the Crieghton family with the men. My sincere condolences to all of Ed’s family, I know you truly will be missed. - Posted by: Gaby Irving (Co worker) on: Nov 19, 2023
