FLORENCE MAY MCCANNELL
It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Florence McCannell on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Seven Oaks General Hospital, at the age of 99 years.
Florence was born near La Riviere, Manitoba to Robert and Ida Esler. She will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Joan (Terry), Doreen (Cal) and Donna (Bob), grandchildren, Karen (Chris), Jeanne, Jason (Andrea), Jennifer (Adrian), Kim, Andrea (Mike) and her nine great grandchildren. Florence was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Grant McCannell on April 25, 1985, her parents, Robert and Ida Esler, sister Margurite (Norman) MacIver, and brother Lawrence (Mina) Esler.
Florence received her education at Silver Springs School, La Riviere High School and Dominion Business College. She was employed as a bank teller and later as a realtor. She loved following the sports activities of her children and grandchildren. She actively enjoyed dancing, curling, bowling, skating and playing cards. She also enjoyed travelling to many countries. She spent many summers at the cottage at Grand Beach and winter holidays in Hawaii. She enjoyed the friendships of Air Canada Pionairs and Colorado Estate residents.
Great-Grandma enjoyed 99+ amazing years with family and friends.
As per her wishes there will be no funeral service. A private family interment will take place.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to La Riviere Cemetery, La Riviere, Manitoba, R0G 1A0.

So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing, Donna. I remember her fondly at Grand Beach. She always has a cheery smile and a friendly word. My condolences to you and your family.
