HENRY NEUFELD
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our husband, father and opa at the age of 91 on Friday November 10, 2023, peacefully at his home in Selkirk surrounded by his loved ones.
Henry leaves behind his beloved wife Joan of 63 years. Children, Kelly (Linda), Kerry (Norine) and Joanne (Arnie); grandchildren, Danielle, Bryant, John, Garth, Matthew, Kendra, Sean, and great-grandson Dallas. He is also survived by his sister Mary and brothers-in-law, Jack (Joanne), and Fred (Karen), and sister-in-law Dawn (Harley) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Henry was predeceased by his parents Abram and Justina Neufeld, his siblings Joyce, Abe, Kay, Anne, John and Mert. His parents-in-law Jack and Siunn Turner and his grandson Myles.
Henry worked in autobody and on the family farm and then purchased Kruse Auto Body which he ran until he was 65. He then went back into private appraising well into his 80’s.
Dad was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved nothing better than camping with his family all over Manitoba until settling at Pie’s Landing in Ontario where the Neufeld Den was the gathering place for friends for decades.
Family, especially his grandchildren and his large group of friends were dad’s passion and joy. He lived life to the fullest and gave so much to everyone, expecting nothing in return. A truly great man.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful team of caregivers that cared for mom and dad in the last couple years and continue to care for mom now. Denise, Wendy, Treena, Lyndsay, Angie and Danielle. With their loving support dad was able to stay at home surrounded by his wife and family.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, at 400 Rouge Road, a luncheon to follow in the Church Hall. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed on the Church's website at

Dear Joan and family, Tom our kids and myself were so sad to hear of Henry’s passing. Henry was a wonderful man with an easy smile and that wonderful radio voice. I remember Henry having a drink in his hand and forgot that there was a step down to our family room. Needless to say he tumbled down but his presentation was stunning. His recovery was quick smooth and rather graceful. The interesting thing was that not a drop of his drink spilt .. Henry could have been a contender .. Our thoughts are with you in the loss of a good man who lived a good life. How lucky were we to have known Dear Henry. Love Wendy Tom and all our clan - Posted by: W and T Mulvenna (Close friends ) on: Nov 25, 2023

I first came to know Henry in the Kruse Auto Body days and more closely later when he ran the appraisal side of our insurance adjusting business. Henry possessed immense knowledge and ‘know how’ in his field and more importantly always presented as a tremendous person and human being. Kind, considerate, humorous, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and the list of his attributes goes on and on. Some great memories for sure. Some legendary. Sincere condolences to the family. RIP Henry. You will be remembered and missed. Ken James - Posted by: Ken James (Friend and business associate ) on: Nov 18, 2023

I've known Henry back to 1966 when he was associated with the late Doug Robinson. Henry guided and advised me from my start in the automotive and insurance industries. A true mentor. I shall always remember his guidance, friendship and great humor. My most sincere condolences to Henry's family. May he rest in peace forever. - Posted by: Robert Dryburgh (Friend) on: Nov 18, 2023
