Sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I played ball with Jim out of the East End community club and always enjoyed his company and comments. He always had a comment when he missed a ground ball - "I didn't get a handle on that one". So, one of the guys gave him a old ball with a handle screwed into it. Rest in Peace Jim. - Posted by: Wayne Smith (Friend) on: Dec 03, 2023

I am remembering the good old days when Jim first met Sylvia and Bob and I double-dated with them, then being bridesmaid at their wedding. In the years that folliowed, so many family gatherings and special ocassions.Despite his ramblings to the contrary,Jim loved Sylvia's Icelandic family. So much so, that he happily took on the title of "Afi" to his grandchildren. His sarcastic Irish humour will be forever remembered by all of us. - Posted by: Vivian P Dayment (Neice) on: Nov 21, 2023

So sad to hear about Jim. We spent many weeks working together on railway scales throughout British Columbia. Some great memories of working with Jim for sure. - Posted by: Luciano Burtini (working) on: Nov 19, 2023

I wish to express my sincere condolences to Jim’s family and friends in his passing. I was principal of the Manitou Collegiate and had Jim as a student many years ago I remember him well, even though it is a distant past, I have often wondered how he fared in life, although I was always confident, he would do well, and am happy to hear that he fulfilled my expectations. Knowing Jim I know he left many happy memories for a lot of people, because that was the nature of his character. - Posted by: Orville Heschuk (Former teacher) on: Nov 18, 2023
