In Memory of Kathleen Moore...
Kathleen Teresa Elizabeth Moore passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023, at the Grace Hospital, with family members around her.
Kathleen (Kath) was the fifth of six children born to June and Gerald Lussier. Kath leaves to cherish her memory, her partner, Trudy; her mother; her sisters, Joan, Carol Ann, and Laura (Dennis); and her brothers, Lawrence (Christine) and Tom (Andree); as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her father; her brother-in-law Dave; her nephew Donny; her grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
Kath was a unique and special person. Though introverted, she was always feisty and fun. In Grade 12, she was student council president at St. Boniface Diocesan High School. She knew, early in her life, that she wanted to be a nurse. She trained at St. Boniface Hospital and worked for many years, as an RN, at Seven Oaks Hospital. Unfortunately, after developing several serious health challenges, Kath was no longer able to work.
Kath loved music, learning to play the piano, ukulele, guitar, mandolin, and bagpipes. She had a love of nature and all of God's creatures, raising lovebirds by hand and, with her partner, Trudy, rescued many parrots, cats and dogs over the years. She loved gardening when she was able and researched small, raised gardens and companion plants. Kath also loved doing puzzles of all sorts, but sudoku were her favourites. She was very creative and loved beading and crocheting, creating many lovely gifts for others.
Kath was a strong, caring, compassionate person, with a wonderful sense of humour. She loved one-on-one conversations. She was so empathetic that it was sometimes hard for her as she would take on feelings with you. Being a great listener, she sometimes even heard things that were not said aloud. She treasured the people in her life. She was well loved and will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital, Emergency department and 2 South, for their kind and compassionate care of Kathleen.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on December 7, 2023, at the parish of St. Timothy, 135 John Forsyth Road.

Kath Out West (as she was fondly known to us) was a beautiful soul who cared deeply, loved fiercely, laughed heartily and more often than not had a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. We have many fond memories of visits with Trudy & Kath, seeing them work as a team to groom Millie the Magnificent (with oven mitts, as I recall!), exploring Winnipeg, the road trip from Winnipeg to Ingleside with a stop in Calendon, just in time for a gorgeous sunset, and a family video call where when the sound went and they could hear us, but we couldn't hear them, up popped little flashcards from Kath ever prepared to keep them able to participate. Kath will indeed be missed. Love and heartfelt condolences to Trudy, and Kath's family. Our thoughts are with you at this very, very sad time. - Posted by: Laurie & Randy Forget (Relatives from Trudy's side) on: Dec 07, 2023

To Trudy, and the entire Lussier family; June, Joan, Carol Ann, and Laura, Lorne and Tom. I was saddened to hear this news. I spent four years in high school with Kath and have nothing but good memories of her. We were both part of the student council that year (although she was, by far, the more qualified). I most certainly recall her sense of humor. We shared many laughs in those later years at St. B., and she had a great smile and laugh to accompany it. I will remember Kathleen with great fondness, and I offer all of you my heartfelt condolences, love and peace. Alan - Posted by: Alan Cox (school friend) on: Dec 06, 2023

Our prayers are with you dear Lussier family as you mourn the death of your sweet sister Kathleen. Mom called this morning letting me know and sends her love to your mother. A lifelong friend. May you feel God’s strength and comfort through this difficult time. - Posted by: Karen Derksen Klassen (Neighbor Friend) on: Dec 03, 2023
