CHRISTINE HELEN KRYSCHUK
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christine Helen Kryschuk on December 8th, 2023, at Concordia Hospital at the age of 82. Christine passed away with her loving family by her side.
Christine was born on October 17, 1941, in Winnipeg to her parents Frank Lawrence and Rose Marie Petrowski.
She will be cherished and deeply missed by her husband of 63 years George; sons Brad (Leah) and Brent (Jodi); grandchildren Allison Bishop (Thomas), Noah (Haley Teichrib), Amy, and Hanna; great-grandchild Elliot (son of Allison and Thomas); brother Gerry Lawrence (Grace) and half-sister Patti Mondor. Christine will also be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family and many close friends.
After graduating Tec Voc High School, Christine worked for the City of Winnipeg Hydro. Christine and George were married on June 11th, 1960. Their early years were spent exploring and enjoying life together. The next chapters of their lives consisted of raising their two sons while continuing their life journey focused on love, family and friendships.
Christine had many passions in life! She enjoyed gardening, golfing, go-carting, cooking, curling and bingo. However, the most important thing in the world to Christine was spending time with her family and friends. Getting together for special occasions or informal gatherings always lit up her beautiful smile and were the source of her most cherished memories.
The family would like to express our profound gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at CancerCare Manitoba, Access River East Medical Care, and Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care. As well, a heartfelt thanks to the extended family and many friends for their tremendous and loving support.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, donations honouring Christine’s memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Just found out about this sad news. I have very fond memories of friendship with the Kryschuk family over the years that included weddings, lots of get togethers and playing baseball with Brad, Brent and Jodi. Both Chris and George were at every game and it was always nice to see them. Even though life has taken everyone in different directions, I still remember all the good times and how welcoming Chris was. During one of our weekend ball tournaments, we went back to their place in between games and she made blueberry pancakes. I’ll never forget that. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. - Posted by: Laura Kryger (Family friend) on: Mar 27, 2024

We are very sorry to hear of the passing of our dear Aunty Kris. Our deepest condolences to Uncle George, the boys and their families. We will truly miss her but have the fondest memories to cherish. Some of my best childhood memories were at the house on Helmsdale with a fridge full of Pic A Pop and the loads of treats she always had prepared. We love you and will miss you dearly. - Posted by: Kelly & Kim Fisette (Family friend) on: Dec 17, 2023

I will forever miss you Chris. Your beautiful smile, our long talks on the phone, our bingo nights, dinners out, and get togethers in your gazebo. You were always so gracious to open up your home and your heart to all of us for pizza nights in the gazebo. Condolences to George and your whole family which I feel I know from all the times we talked. You were a beautiful light and a wonderful friend. - Posted by: Sherri Morrison (friend and Bingo buddy) on: Dec 15, 2023

Chris was our next door neighbor for 38 years and will be dearly missed! She loved sitting in their gazebo & reading, and loved to experiment with different flowers in her many flower pots. I (Sharlene) loved talking flowers & gardening with her, and she would give Wilf the biggest wave from the window on his early morning walks. Her smile, loving to chat and interest in our family are a few things we will miss so very much! Our love & prayers are with George & the family. May you find comfort in your precious memories! - Posted by: Wilf & Sharlene (Neighbor) on: Dec 13, 2023

My condolences to your family. Chris and my Mom were golfing buddies and I will be forever grateful for her support when Mom, Dad and Brad were at a hockey tournament in Brandon and I needed to get our dog to the vet. Her support and love will never be forgotten. Chris was always in my Mom's thoughts and prayers until her own passing this year. May her memory be a blessing.
