Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRENDA LILIAS LEMOINE
With family at her side and music of the Pipes and Drums of the Royal Scots Dragoon playing, it is with comforted sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Lemoine (nee Lockhart), at Vista Park Lodge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 94.
Brenda was predeceased by Henri (Hank), her loving husband of 60 years, her parents, William and May (Miell) Lockhart, sister Enid (John) Keiller, and brother Alexander (Edith) Lockhart.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Henry (Kim), Deb (Marcel), Rick (Janet), and David, grandchildren, Michelle (Jennie), Shelby (Patrick), Christine (Jake), Karen (Atom), Natalie, Ryan (Madison), and Aaron, great-grandchildren, Charlee and Rilee, and close family friends, Kristen, Keith, and Finn Wilson.
Brenda was born and raised in Kircaldy, Fife, Scotland. As a young woman she travelled to Edinburgh where she worked as a hairstylist and fashion model. It was in Edinburgh where she met Hank, a young professional hockey player from Manitoba. They married in Scotland and set sail back to Canada and raised a family in Winnipeg.
Mom loved to curl and made many life-long friends while she played. She enjoyed travelling and was able to return to Scotland, vacation in Hawaii with Dad, and took many family trips within Canada and the USA. She was an elegant hostess, highlighted by weekly Sunday dinners with the entire family.
The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to the many staff at Vista Park Lodge for their sensitive and loving care.
A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held on December 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB.
In accordance with Brenda’s wishes, and in lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to a charity of your choice in her memory.

My sympathy to the Lemoine family on the loss of your dear Mother. Hank Jr., Rick, Dave and sister Deb (never had the pleasure of meeting, Dave always said you looked like him, won't hold that against you), but I got to know the 3 Amigos/Musketeers/Stooges (I say that with endearment) as teammates on the curling sheets and ball diamond rivals/mates as well. Lots of great memories. Through our friendship, I had the pleasure on numerous occasions to visit the Lemoine "Ashton Household", when Dave and I got together to strategize, which had nothing to do with curling or baseball. During these visits, I met two of the nicest and welcoming parents, Henri and Brenda Lemoine. They also had a great sense of humor, I mean they had to with the constant shenanigans created by the boys. I did not know you guys as young kids, but I can only imagine what Mom and Dad had to deal with on a daily basis, probably the same as my Mom (born the same year as Brenda). All I know is that when hanging out with the Lemoine boys, post game, was always a blast filled with the best kind of humor, where anything and everything gets a laugh. That is testament to your Mom and Dad, they taught you well and raised you to do what is right and at the same time laugh and be humble. A few mistakes along the way, the best way to learn about life. You should be very proud of your Mom, I know you are !! Keep her smiling down at you, always in your thoughts, you will never love another more, Moms are the best (Hank Sr, a very close second)... I hope you all are doing well. Laughter is the best way to get a break from the tears, doing both at the same time is pure joy, she would want that. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I was Brenda's housekeeper for many years and we shared a special bond. We discussed family, friends, life in general and we laughed a whole bunch too. She always had a smile, dressed like a true lady and made you feel comfortable in her presence. Brenda, you touched so many hearts and you will always shine like a star. Rest in peace my dear friend. Classy and elegant. Welcoming and kind. Brenda was all this. Only last week I shared a memory of Brenda with an acquaintance as we discussed shoes. My runners had holes in them and I said, "A dear friend in Canada once told me that you can tell a lot about a person by their shoes." I will buy new shoes and treasure my memories of both Brenda and Hank. RIP my friend; loved you from afar. Deepest condolences to the family. I met Brenda through her lovely daughter Deb. I would visit my mother Vera often as well as Deb visiting her mother at Vista Park Personal Care Home. We were on the same floor 4 doors away and because of Two daughters love and caring, visiting faithfully I met Brenda. It was such a enjoyment watching Deb putting curlers, Lipstick and dressing her elegantly daily. Your mother Brenda was a beautiful lady, very attractive and look extremely young for her age. Deb you were such devoted daughter to your mom, she will be missed very much.
