Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLYNDUR LLOYD DAVIES
Glynn passed peacefully in the evening of December 22 at Golden Links Lodge where he resided in his final years under the loving care of his devoted wife, Grace.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 22 years, Grace de Leon (Katie) and his son Owen Davies. He is predeceased by his parents, William Oliver and Cecilia Victoria Davies and his first wife, Tita Rosales.
Glynn was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and his family moved to London, England, prior to The Second World War where he experienced the difficulties faced by war-torn England as a young boy. He returned to Canada after the war. He moved to Winnipeg in the 1950s where he excelled in his career as an insurance agent, winning eight national awards for sales and service. He was president of the Winnipeg Jaycees in the 1960s, and senator of the Junior Chamber International. He was a Master Mason belonging to the Prince Albert Lodge.
He met his first wife, Tita, in Winnipeg and through her became involved with the Filipino community where he joined the Knights of Rizal. In 2001, after losing Tita to a chronic illness, Glynn married Grace, a recently widowed family friend of 30 years. They were happily married for 22 years and lived their lives fully, travelling to the Philippines, Europe and the Middle East. They enjoyed many parties and socials with the Filipino community and with the Jaycees. Glynn loved to go fishing, hunting and most of all, he loved to golf.
The family is very grateful for the excellent care Glynn received at Golden Links Lodge. They looked after both Glynn and Grace as they spent their last two years together. Prayers for Glynn were held in a private family gathering prior to cremation. In the spring, his remains will be interred followed by a celebration of his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Filipino Heritage/Bursary Scholarship Fund of the UST Alumni Association of Manitoba at https://www.mycharitytools.com/gift/w
