DORIS TOSTOWARYK
Surrounded by her loving family, Doris passed away on January 12, 2024. She leaves behind her two children, Brant (Luis) and Sherri (Jay) that will miss her immensely and her three grandsons that she was so proud of, Matthew, Devon (Megan), and Cole (Sydney). She was predeceased by the love of her life, Mickey (Mytro) in 2021.
Mom nursed for over forty years and those skills remained with her. She was always organized, neat, efficient and liked things done the proper way. She trained in Alberta and worked in various hospitals, finishing her career after working 25 years at The Municipal Hospitals, now Riverview Health Centre.
Mom loved fashion, purses and shoes but her hair was her crowning glory. She always wanted to look her best and her nails always had to be painted. She was a true lady.
She loved to travel and she and Dad saw many parts of the world and went on many cruises.
She was the best mom and grandma. Mom was our rock, our go to for everything. She was a great cook and an excellent baker; we all looked forward to our favourites. Mom had a fabulous sense of humour and wit. She impressed everyone with her sharp memory and was adored by all.
Mom had many health struggles over the years but she faced it all with a positive attitude. She amazed everyone with her zest for life after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Thanks to Dr. Tam and Dawn, Dr. Balko and Teresa, The Palliative Care Team and the resident assistants at Linden Pointe that helped give her some quality time these past few years. Thanks to Riverview Palliative Care for their care and compassion in her final days.
Mom, we hope you and Dad are dancing together again. We love you and will miss you so much.
A Celebration of Doris’ Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2024 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A private family interment has taken place at Glen Lawn Cemetery.
Family and friends may view a tribute video and sign a book of condolence at www.glenlawn.ca

Saddened to hear about Doris' passing. She was a remarkable, warm hearted and extremely funny lady, who will be missed by all of us! The way she & Matt would dance together, pure magic! At least now in her passing she is reunited with Matt (Mytro). Prayers and Condolences to the family and everyone concerned. Will always smile when we think of her! Long time family friends of Our parents, the late Alex & Helen Penteliuk. - Posted by: Geraldine (Gerrie) Penteliuk (Family Friends) on: Jan 20, 2024

We are sorry for your loss. We miss seeing both of them as they were wonderful people. I recall watching Matt in amazement as he pulled himself up in the gym with such ease. I can see their smiles as they reconnect and dance. Much love. Lesia and Bill. - Posted by: Lesia and Bill Zablockij (Neighbours) on: Jan 20, 2024
