JOAN MAILHIOT
It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of our precious Wife, Mom, Sister, Grandma, Aunt and Friend at the age of 76 years.
Our Mom's number one pride and joy was her family. She did not have a selfish bone in her body, always taking care of everyone else over herself. Dad was the love of her life, they started dating in their teens, got married, had children and stuck together until the end.
Mom had a fierce kind of love for her kids. None of us could do wrong in her eyes. She had our backs no matter good or bad and stuck tall beside all three of us. Once her grandchildren came along her fierce love and protection continued with them. She loved hard and was loved hard in return.
This is not goodbye, it's see you later Good night, sleep tight and see you in our dreams
She leaves to mourn her husband Roger, sister Marg (Rob), children, Mike, Dan, Robyn, six grandchildren, Devlon, Blaine, Austin, Alena, Logan, and Annabelle, brother-in-law Norm (Mary), sister-in-law Gloria (Rick), nieces and nephews, Rob (Laura/family), Kim (family), Jeff (Kelly/family), Nicole (Dan/family), Michelle (family) and many friends.
In Loving Memory
Those we love remain with us,
For Love itself Lives on.
Cherished memories never fade
because the loved one is gone.
Those we love can never be more
than a thought apart.
For as long as there is a memory,
they live on in our heart!
The service for Joan will be Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home.
Special thank you to staff at St. Boniface and Victoria Hospitals. In lieu of flowers the family asks to donate to CancerCare Manitoba.

I was so shocked and saddened when I heard of Joan's passing. (I just found out recently). Years ago, I really enjoyed working with her. (She was always my favourite co-worker and friend at work.) Then, many years later seeing and talking with her was always a treat. She was such a fun person -- always cheerful and positive! When I got breast cancer talking to her was such a comfort (she understood what I was going through because she went through the same thing before me.) She was a sweet and wonderful person. To Roger and family we offer our deepest condolences. -------from Darlene and Al Gysel. - Posted by: Darlene Gysel (past co-worker and friend ) on: Jul 10, 2024

I am sorry to learn of Joan's passing and offer my condolences to her family and friends. Our families were friends (Tom & Marie from Marie's restaurant). Joan and I would bump into each other over the years and we always ended up laughing. She had her Dad's sense of humour. He was as funny as your Mom was quiet. You are in my thoughts Marg.
