On Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Cambridge Manor, in Calgary, AB. Hugh was born in Morris, MB, on November 13, 1942, to Cecil and Mary Johnson of Morris, MB, and was the second oldest of four children.
In his youth, Hugh was a talented athlete who won many awards and accolades in a variety of track and field events, as well as on the basketball court, and baseball diamond. Hugh received his Physical Education degree from the University of North Dakota. Hugh retired, after many years with the CNR.
Hugh is survived by his wife Barbara; his children, Bryce (Lisa), Carey (Cam), and Paula; Barbara's daughters, Raylene (Dave), and Kelly (Brian); as well as granddaughters, Ayla, Megan, Kasiya, Rachel, and Breanna. Hugh is also survived by his brother Fred and nieces, Sheila and Lauren; his sister Debbie (Albert) Valdivia, and nephews Ivan, Chris, and Jeff.
The family would like to thank Cambridge Manor for the wonderful care Hugh received while there.
