It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon McDougall on October 31, 2023 at age 83 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Gord passed away peacefully with family by his side. Gord was predeceased by his father John, mother Lillian, brother Ed, sister Doris and his precious dog Marley.
Gord is survived by wife Carole, son Clinton (Melanie), granddaughter Calli, and brothers Jerry and Don as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Gord was born in Winnipeg and lived his whole life here. He worked as machinist at Monarch Industries. Gord and Carole were married in 1968 and welcomed their son Clinton in 1970. Gord and Carole were ecstatic at the arrival of their beloved granddaughter Calli in 2003. Gord was a member of the Vestry and Building Committee at St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church for many years. Gord loved all sports, especially hockey, football, curling, bowling and knew everything there was to know about boxing! He loved music, singing and dancing and had a large record collection. He also loved computers.
A celebration of Gord’s Life will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.
The family would like to thank Gord’s doctor Dr. McElhoes for his care and Trevor and Marcie Hinds for their help during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or a charity of your choosing.
