Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALMA LORRAINE ANGUS
Peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024 our dear mother, grandmother (Amma) and great grandmother passed away at the age of 94. She leaves behind her brother Robert (Joan), daughter Janice (Brian), daughter Kathy, son David (Cindy) and son Rob (Patricia) and her grandchildren Kristin, Daniel (Gisele), Trysh (Simon), Casey (Ashley), Scott (Chantelle), Sean and Laura. Alma also leaves behind great-grandchildren Ethan (Jaimie), Jacob and Abigail, along with many nieces and nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Bert, parents Carlyle (Curly) and Vilborg, brother Joe, sisters Willene and Christine and grandson Jeffrey.
Alma was born in Gimli, Manitoba, the second of five children. The family moved to Winnipeg where she completed her education at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. She graduated with training as a stenographer and went on to work at the Winnipeg YMCA in the office. It was during those years that she met her future husband, Bert, who she married 1952. In 1960, they moved to their house in Transcona where they lived until Bert’s passing in July, 2000.
Mom will be dearly missed by all of her family. Our family would like to express our thanks and appreciation for the wonderful home care workers who helped her in her time living at Devonshire House. We especially want to thank the wonderful staff at Donwood Manor Personal Care home on 2North for their kindness, compassion and the excellent care that Mom received during her time there.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Donwood Manor Foundation or to a charity of choice.

Our utmost sympathy to The Angus family from Grace and I. I consider Alma to be the Grand Lady of Toastmasters International. She is the wife, mother and aunt of world champion public and platform speakers. She was their ultimate support and enabler. Always calm, always, cheerful always CLASS always there. She was there by the side of her husband Bert in 1971 when he won the world championship of public speaking. Farewell Alma it was a privilege to know you and admire your steadfast ways over the years!--Jack Gillespie. . - Posted by: Jack Gillespie,DTM,1991-1992 Toastmasters International president ( friend of the family) on: Feb 17, 2024
