LOIS CELENTINO

(nee BONNELL)

May 28, 1937 - February 12, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lois Celentino at the age of 86 at the St. Boniface hospital with her family by her side.

She was predeceased by her husband Carman, brother-in-laws Bob, Lionel and John, sister Helen and brother John and his wife Sara. She is survived by Carm’s three children, Linda (Joey), John (Jane), Wendy (Paul) and their families. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Pat and her children, Randy (Kim), Kathryn (Michael), Bonnie (Drew) and their families, her sister-in-law Maria and her children, Elsa (Dominque), Louciano, Lorraine (Massy), Janet (Doug), Nancy (John), Adrian (Susan), Lynda (Matt), her niece Suzanne (Ron) and their children, Joran and Jennifer and her son, Jesse, and the Bonnell children, Lissa, Lee and Ryan and their families and many Icelandic cousins.

Lois enjoyed a full and exciting life of travel with Carm, trailering to 49 States. Trailering was always in her blood and at the ripe old age of 84 she bought herself a trailer and became a part of the Cherry Hill Living community where she enjoyed meeting new people, riding around the community on the golf cart with Ron and enjoying “happy hour” when the sun was just “over the yard arm”.

Lois especially enjoyed her many trips with Suzanne and Ron and their family to Mexico, Phoenix and Fargo. She also looked forward to her twice daily phone calls from her sister Pat and niece Kathryn in Wyoming and the regular parcels that they sent to her with many goodies in the box and books to read.

As her health declined, she was overjoyed by a visit from her niece Nancy and nephew Louie from Toronto and a second visit from her nieces Janet and Lynda from Edmonton. She often spoke about what “good kids” they were and how they always kept in touch with her.

All of us who knew and loved her will miss her positivity and zest for life, her homemade medicinal remedies….take a spoonful of honey to help eliminate a cough, crackers with peanut butter at night will help with insomnia and a good ‘ol shot of rye will cure all!

A special thank you to the caring and compassionate staff and doctors of ward 6E at the St. Boniface hospital and to Shirley Murray for her friendship and care of Lois.

Cremation has taken place and as per Lois’ wishes, there will be no funeral.

“Gooa nott” Lois

“We’ll get there” and

we’ll “play ’er cool” Lolo

Love and remember you forever!
