I went for my Graduate studies at the University of Manitoba in the mid-90s. Prof Shah reached out me out at the University, and called me in his office as we had common acquaintances/relatives in Winnipeg and Moorpark, CA. He invited me for dinner to his house and we had a great time. His family were wonderful hosts. After I moved to Ottawa, I met his Sister, Ursula Desai, and Brother-in-law, Raman Desai, who were eminent personalities in Ottawa and got Prof Shah’s news regularly. A great scholar and a highly respected academic, Prof Shah made a huge mark in his field. My sincerest condolences to Prof Shah’s family on his passing. - Posted by: Ajay Pandya (Student) on: Sep 08, 2024

My sincerest condolences to Dr. Shah's family. I was one of his many students beginning in 1970 until my graduation from Civil Engineering in 1974. He was also my fourth year thesis adviser. We were the beneficiaries of his teaching skills and ability to connect at the entry level. We were very fortunate to have such a knowledgeable and skilled communicator to teach and guide us. Sincerely, Garry W Winch, P. Eng. (Retired). - Posted by: Garry Winch (Former U of M Civil Engineering Undergraduate Student) on: Mar 05, 2024
