BEATRICE (BETTY) KIMERY

(nee PERREAULT)

Date of Passing: February 23, 2024

Peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2024, Betty Kimery of Winnipeg passed away at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 85.

Betty is survived by her children, Janice Forest, Andrew (Rita) Kimery, and Leslye (Paul) Fisher; six grandchildren, Dylan Forest, Kyra (Matthew) Fehr, Renelle and Nadia Kimery, Alexandria and Tyler Fisher; as well as her nieces, Dawn (Doug) Breckman, Kerry (Roger) Gagne, and her nephew Blayze (Adrienne) Perreault. She was predeceased by her husband Art in 2017, as well as her parents, Louis and Tina (nee Bisio) Perreault and her brother Mario and his wife Elaine.

Betty was born on December 8, 1938. She attended St. Mary’s Academy and played basketball for the school team. Betty remained an avid sports fan all her life and was a Winnipeg Blue Bomber season ticket holder for over 40 years. In 1965, Betty decided to leave the work force to raise her children. Once the youngest had graduated high school she returned to work taking a position at the Archdiocese of Winnipeg, working her way to CFO before retiring.

Married in 1962, Betty and Art celebrated 55 years of marriage before Art’s passing. Betty was happiest when she was in the kitchen cooking for family and friends. Betty also enjoyed baking, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place, and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy. with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morrissey presiding. A private interment will follow.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her friends Barb and Dick for their love and support, to the Home Care nurses and to the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Betty to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Rest in peace mom.

You are forever in our hearts.
