After a few years, Bob and his family returned to the Ontario Veterinary College where he worked for the Department of Pathology and continued his studies in veterinary medicine. After receiving a Master of Science, Bob went on to study and teach at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where he received a PhD in 1971. It was during their time at Cornell that Bob and Sheila had their third child Lee.
In 1976 Bob and family returned to Canada where he worked as a research scientist with Agriculture Canada. In 2008 Bob retired and spent his time with family, gardening, cooking, golfing, curling, fishing, playing crib and fretting.
Bob was predeceased by his father Thomas, mother Margaret, sister Jacqueline and brother Allister. Bob is survived by his wife Sheila, son Paul (Karen), daughter Carla (Ro), son Lee, grandchildren, Adam, Jacob, Allison, Wyatt and Georgia.

Shirley and family. I am saddened to hear of your loss. Bob and I roomed together in our first year at University, graduated together and I was really looked forward to revesting our 65th. Our paths crossed several times over the years and to say that I valued his friendship would be an understatement. Gwen's and my thoughts are with you in this difficult time.
